EJOT, zoals gedefinieerd door REACH, is een downstreamgebruiker en is daarom niet verantwoordelijk voor het documenteren van stoffen.

Wij hechten veel belang aan kwaliteit en veiligheid; hierdoor wordt elk product regelmatig aan strenge controles onderworpen. Deze gelden uiteraard ook voor het voldoen aan wettelijke grenswaarden voor schadelijke stoffen.

EJOT zal de verplichtingen van de REACH-richtlijn nakomen of naleven en heeft overeenkomstig elke leverancier contractueel verplicht om ook aan de geldende eisen te voldoen. Onze leveranciers zijn onder andere verplicht om zich te houden aan het verbod op bepaalde stoffen en te voldoen aan de aangifteverplichtingen.
We zijn niet onderworpen aan verplichtingen op basis van de documentatie van stoffen en preparaten of de formulering. Volgens DE REACH-richtlijn artikel 33 zijn we echter verplicht om informatie over producten te verstrekken.

Indien nodig zullen wij u informeren over relevante wijzigingen in uw producten die tot stand zijn gekomen door REACH, hun beschikbaarheid en de kwaliteit van de onderdelen die wij u leveren als onderdeel van onze zakelijke relatie, in individuele gevallen zullen wij samen met u passende maatregelen bepalen.

REACH stands for "Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals" and took effect on 1 June, 2007.

REACH Declaration – additional information

According to Article 33 of the REACH directive, every supplier of a product must indicate when the product contains more than 0.1% (mass per cent) of substances of very high concern( SVHC). In the case of composite products it is necessary to take the concentration threshold of the individual product into account (e.g. bicycle handle, belt buckle, etc.). Therefore, the following needs to be done:
 
  • Check the Candidate List regularly
    • Ensure regular updates of the Candidate List: The Candidate List is updated twice annually (at the start and in the middle of the year) 
    • Is there a possibility that candidate substances are contained in the products?
  • Duty to supply information about substances that are contained in my product in a concentration in excess of 0.1% and are on the Candidate List: communicating the information available which is sufficient for safe use, indicating at the minimum the name of the substance in question.
    • Unsolicited forwarding of the information along the supply chain in the case of trade customers
    • Information to private end users only on request (45 days)
